Andromeda infrared picture from WISE: that is a wallpaper :)

I found a high resolution version of the new pictures from WISE, a new telescope investigating the space on the infrared spectrum. This is about the Andromeda Galaxy. I add here in the post a low resolution version. But, if, like me, you like astronomy and dark wallpapers, just click on the link below, that is the high resolution version, 14.8MB for 6666x6666 pixels!
By the way Andromeda is 2.5 millions light years away, called Merrier 31 and is visible with naked eyes. You need a binocular in urban areas but even without if you have a place that is dark enough.
Not bad the idea to see one of the most far "object" from us, without tools.
This is a link for a howto that help in finding Andromeda on a clear night. Download Stellarium, to have a Stellarium on your desk!!! Have fun, my desktop is not showing this very nice, very high resolution infrared view.

Neonode N2 maybe the smart Phone I was looking for!!!

Finally I found something that nearly suits me 100%!

- smartPhone
- touchscreen
- very small but with enough pixel resolution
- A decent minimal internet access
- not expensive

Neonode N2 looks like all of this, smaller than a credit card and 99 euro new (check the item on Amazon.de). The touch screen use a technology from Neonode, and basically uses a grid of infrared in front of the display.
Comments are good, and I didn't read about this since a few days ago, when I did a few searches on the web. The Neonode N2 is out from 2007!
Here a couple of reviews: phonearena and cnet!
but I chosed to buy a second hand for 62 euro on Amazon.de!!!

Will let you know about it just after using it for a couple of days, I should get it by surface email in a few days time! Finger crossed :)

compare the N2 with other smart phone, in size:
